For many years I was a software engineer, most recently doing web development. All that time my art was simply a hobby, something I would do in my spare time. The past few years I found myself no longer content to do art part-time. Each year the desire to do something artistic has grown stronger. Then I was laid off from my software jobs, twice. This was a sign. So now I am pursuing web design and graphic art full time, instead of concentrating on the back-end code. Now I work on the front-end, the look and feel, the layout, the flow, the fonts and colors, everything that goes into making the appearance of a web site work for the people who visit it. I have years of experience implementing these designs. Now I am very happy to design the sites that I build as well. |
I also enjoy doing print work. I worked for a publishing firm for a year creating ads for coupon books as well as marketing materials. I have done freelance web design work over that past few years as well as printed materials for many of these clients.
